Generations have trod, have trod, have trod; And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil; And wears man’s smudge and shares man’s smell: the soil Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod. And for all this, nature is never spent; There lives the dearest freshness deep down things...
Thanks for this. As a married woman I am unqualified to answer that He is enough because I have it all...but with every breath I have, like you I believe He is ...when I remember to look to Him first and always. We are far too easily satisfied.
This question is comparable to: "Is gold better than plastic?" or "Is pumpkin pie better than dirt?"Unequivically, YES!
Hi Jennypo,Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and linking to it here! I was just reading through some of your posts and I so appreciate your heart for God.Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the issue of sex and also posting that video. Powerful!God is, indeed, the best. Even when things hurt or are difficult. Nothing compares to knowing Christ our Lord.Karen
hey Jen- I hooked you up to my google reader :) How about that John Piper...definately one of my faves, not afraid to just YELL it, no matter how hushhush the subject. Thanks for posting that video, I don't think there is anyone, old or young, single or married, who could not benefit from hearing that. love, ramona
Thanks to all of you for your comments. bjk, you do say that he is enough. I have often been reminded by you that he alone is enough.joeyanne, lest anyone misunderstand and think that you see sex as something cheap or dirty, let me say that I know you mean to say that God is so much better that any good thing, in comparison to him, is nothing. karen k, thank you so much for your openness and for the glory of God revealed in your life. You are the voice this generation so needs to hear.ramona, glad you came by. I do love John Piper's willingness to step outside his own cultural comfort zone and speak to a world that can no longer be silent about these things. I love that he is not content to tell us what NOT to do, but that he presents that One who is worthy of every sacrifice. And you right to point out that this is not simply a message to the single - the message is that resisting temptation is not the point. Jesus is.
